SOOPR Rescue Agent
In developing our SMART™ solutions, we ceased to fixate on “what is” and instead began to imagine “what if…?
The Problem
Existing rescue agents used for opioid overdose are too short-acting. According to first responders, 4-6 doses of Narcan are typically required just to get an overdose patient to the hospital. Unfortunately, this fact is not widely understood, leaving friends and family with the false hope that they can rescue a loved one with one or two doses of Narcan.
What If…?
What if a single injection could rescue an individual from an oral fentanyl overdose?
Our Solution
SOOPR is the first rescue agent designed for oral synthetic opioid overdose. In vivo proof-of-concept demonstrates that a single injection of SOOPR provides ~5x the duration of action of Narcan or Opvee. SOOPR could also be taken by the military and first responders to protect them against exposure to airborne synthetic opioids in the field.
Core Benefits
-
More effective against deadly synthetics
High-potency synthetic opioid overdoses often require repeated doses of Narcan, but SOOPR is a more effective and longer lasting treatment.
-
Empowers friends and family to save a loved one
Unlike existing rescue agents, SOOPR is designed to protect against the longer-duration of synthetic opioids (e.g., fentanyl) especially when taken orally..
-
Environmental protection for first responders + military
Fentanyl and other synthetics can be airborne and weaponized, and when inhaled accidentally, can be fatal.. SOOPR, when used by these professionals, can provide an extended window of protection.
